Food Service

Breakfast is served from 7:50 - 8:15 a.m.  Please remember that there will be no breakfast served on late start days of school.

Students and staff enjoy having special visitors to eat with the students but please save "fast food treats" for home occasions. Students may bring juice or milk with their home lunch, but please do not send pop.

If you would like to join your child for lunch please ask children to order your school lunch in the morning when they order their own. Or you need to call the office before 9:00 a.m. of the morning you would like to come.

Letters that come home on the green paper with "From Grant School Kitchen" printed in black ink are to advise you that your child's account is getting low and they will need money in the next couple of days. Mrs. Tedrow tries to let parents know when their child's account is below $3.00 so money can be sent to school before the account is overspent.

When sending money for your child's food service account please:
  • If you send a check please make sure your child's name in noted on the check. If you have more than one child in the building and would like to write one (1) check, just be sure to list all their names (child's first and last name) on the check. This will ensure that their account is credited correctly. And/or
  • Put the check or cash in an envelope with your child's name and "Lunch money" noted on the outside of the envelope.
You may also set up an account on MyLunchMoney.com

The Food Service program does provide free and reduced lunch and breakfast to those students who are eligible. Applications are available at each school office as well as at the Muscatine School Board Office, which is located at 2900 Mulberry Ave.
