Educational Background
This is my 25th year of teaching.  I graduated from the University of Iowa with my degree in education in the winter of 1985.

AutoBiography
I grew up in Muscatine and attended McKinley grade school. I did not always want to be a teacher. When I went to college at 18 years old I was a French major and was sure I would soon be working at the UN. Getting married and raising two sons, Neil (39) and Seth (36) changed my plans. Working with lots of children in many different situations made me realize how much I enjoyed watching them grow and develop. I decided I wanted to be a part of that. After 25 years of being "a part of that," I can say it has been a great experience.

Favorite Book
Wow, there are so many books that have moved me. One of my favorites is Poland by James Michner.

Favorite Quote
"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."
